Advancing the use of clean energy via loans to households is a model pioneered by such organizations as Grameen Koota of Bangladesh. With a mixture of support, MFIs can be successful with such new product lines. Micro Energy Credits has solved an important barrier by allowing the MFIs to have a source of NEW REVENUE from the carbon markets.
